Map of Zambia Our unexpected stay in Germany over, we returned to the US for six weeks to prepare for our journey to Zambia. Our assignment was to teach at Chikankata Secondary School and Hospital, a mission established in the Zambian bush by the Salvation Army in the late 1940s. But we had another surprise in store for us, Catherine was carrying our first child!! Would the Mennonite Central Committee still accept us? Would the conditions be healthy for a pregnant woman?
