FLASH!! (Well, not actually a flash, more like a slow burn or even a smoulder.) The Mitch family as of February 7, 1994 will be living in ... (drum roll please)
NEW JERSEY!!
(Ta daa!!)
"New Joisy? Why would you ever leave the blessedness of the Deep South for those cruel Yankee climes?" you may ask. Well, ask away. ... Oh, you want an answer? (Another drum roll please)
MONEY!!
(Ta daa!!)
Well, not actually money per se, but what money can buy, such as a house, a COMPUTER, a college education, COMPUTER SOFTWARE, retirement, MORE COMPUTER SOFTWARE and other things of the ilk like COMPUTER STUFF. And besides, I'm really tired with the way the State of Florida treats it employees and sweating in September.
It all started one day in October while I was at work. A recruiter (to be now referred to as the headhunter) whom I had written to in Japan but from whom I had not heard anything was trying to find me. My boss quietly explained to him that I was now working back at this lab but that the headhunter could talk to me. So, during the next three months I was quietly courted by an environmental testing laboratory located in scenic NJ. When I was offered a salary 70% more than what I was currently being paid, I began to have a growing conviction that I was to move to the pagan North.
You may have detected an undercurrent of subtle MATERIALISM, which of course confirms your uncany astuteness about such things. Rest easy. You're completely right. Which is the problem. I have never made a move for money. This will be the first. And I rest uneasy in it for "the heart is deceitful." It's not like we haven't prayed and fasted. Its just that either I'm not noticing what's being said or the decision has been left to us.
However, the die is cast (or is it the dice are cast). And were off to the NE during one of the most bitter winters in recent history. My next letter to you may be received with icicles and created on my new COMPUTER. As soon as we have our new address we'll send it to you. Provided we can get our fingers warm enough to move and write letters.
